Love it or Leave it, "D" Style | Personal

There is something about seeing your little ones meet Mickey and Minnie for the first time that makes you act like a kid again.
It's those famous cartoon characters we have grow to love that are walking, some talking and oh so huggable, right in front
of our eyes that makes us so giddy.

This past week we went on a little family vacation to Disneyland. I haven’t been since I was FIVE. Yes, yes I know… Crazy!
It was about time! So this leads me into my next, Love It or Leave It installment: Disneyland

LOVE IT
The Disney music that play as you enter the park
Seeing Mickey and Minnie for the first time when you come around the bend into the plaza
Dinner at the Blue Bayou
All the fun hidden facts in the park: the skull on the headboard in the Pirates of the Caribbean is authentic, Fantasmic lasts
about 22 minutes and costs $30,000 to produce, Jingles was Mrs. Disney’s horse on the Carousel,
there is an Eeyore parking sign in Indiana Jones in the movie room
Super Favorite Rides: Space Mountain, Small World, The Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean,
Hollywood Tower of Terror, Midway Madness and California Screamin
Princess Dinner at Ariel's Grotto (you can meet all the Princesses at one time, as you eat)
A Pineapple Spear

LEAVE IT
The mobs of people that show up on Friday night ;0)
Matterhorn, come on Disneyland it really needs a face lift
Sore feet (next time I think I'll wear a pedometer, I'm really interested in seeing how far we walk)

Even after four days of Disney fun, it was hard to go home. Hope to be back soon!
A post is always better with a picture, so here is a sneak peek of next week's entry.

Steven, Theresa and the kids (part 2) | Roseville Family Photographer

He's home! Steven is home on leave for a few weeks and I had the privilege of spending an afternoon
with them as a family and capturing some sweet moments.

Love this face!

If you haven't read part one about Steven, Theresa and their sweet kiddos, feel free to scroll down three posts.

Happy Happy New Year | Personal

Happy 2010! Hope you had a spectacular holiday with your friends and family. I am definitely looking forward to this new year and all the fabulous photography to be had. This month keep checking my blog and site because we will be making slight changes throughout January.
I'm so excited about the mini face lift and would love to hear your feedback.
Here is a little taste of this week's blog post...

John, Lisa and family | Placerville Family Photographer

Is it going rain? Maybe. Maybe not. We couldn't decide, so we just went for it.
John, Lisa, John, Joy Ann and even grandma and grandpa were super troopers! Beautiful family.

We had such lovely light to work with too!

This one makes me SMILE. Buddy, the dog, wanted nothing to do with the cold weather.

Edie, you are such a sweet puppy!

...and at the end of our last shot it started to pour. Perfecto!

Wishing you a Merry Merry Christmas | Personal

Wow, what a year this has been! I "pinch" myself frequently just to make sure I'm not dreaming up this fabulous career.
To all my clients who are now friends and to my family, thank you for blessing me with knowing you, befriending you,
hanging with you and capturing some awesome and amazing memories with you. Here's to another epic year in 2010.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! God bless.

Theresa and the kids (part 1) | Roseville Family Photographer

"I would love photographs of us around the house...just playing around and lounging. I want him to have a piece of us while he's gone." Theresa explained. Him being her husband, Steven who is finishing up another six month service in Iraq as a civilian contractor.
My heart skipped a beat and I thought, "Wow, what a wonderful gift to give." I was honored.

So that's what we did... we hung out at the house, played and captured some beautiful moments for Steven to hold onto.

Still trying to keep it together after taking this next set

We then shooed the kiddos into the other room and photographed a few hottie pics of Theresa in her man's favorite t-shirt.
Here's a super fabulous one...

This post is part 1 because Steven is coming home soon for a two week leave and we will be having
another session for him, Theresa and the kids.

Mark, Debbie and Bella | El Dorado Hills Family Photographer

She acted just like a little person! I couldn't get over it. I have never seen a dog so well behaved and so amazing! As a walked around
the corner to initially meet her she was all smiles and when she saw the treats, I became her best friend! Here's a little sneak peek.
Look at this face! Have you not seen anything cuter?

Oh yes, we can't forget about mom and dad...

Bella never likes it when Mark and Debbie kiss. Just a little jealous.
"I'm gonna to get right in between ya." Love it!

Mark, Debbie and Bella thank you.

We have waited a 120 years for this... | Personal

We knew it had snowed over night…you could feel it. Jumping up, Kurt, Maddie and I peered through the blinds to see the glorious white wonderland outside. It was six inches of amazing white powder to be exact. The phone rang and Maddie’s teacher said, "Snow Day!" That’s all we needed to hear. We bounded down the stairs in excitement, throwing on whatever “snow clothes” we could find and had a super fun snow day out front with the rest of the neighborhood.

Jacob's first experience with snow...

We later learned that it had been over 120 years since it had snowed this much at our elevation. 120 years! We're making history!

Julia + Laing | Sacramento Wedding Photographer

My eyes were watering and I was sniffling like crazy. I hadn't seen a windy day like this in a long time and my allergies were getting the best of me... that was until I saw Julia and Laing. Such a stunning couple! You see, a few months back the lovely Nudrat had asked if I would second with her at their wedding. Absolutely! Who doesn't love a Thanksgiving weekend wedding?
So I popped a Claritin and I was good to go...

Last minute details

Their first look

I love Laing's expression, as he sees his bride walking towards him

This is where I started tearing up and it wasn't because of my allergies...

The ceremony was held at Sacramento Westminster Presbyterian

The reception took place at the Library Galleria

A quick change into a gorgeous traditional Chinese dress and jewelry

Julia and Laing, it was a pleasure to witness and photograph your wedding day.
I pray that the Lord will bless you both with much love and laughter as you journey through life together.
